What is cuthbert in monsters vs aliens?

Cuthbert is a character in the movie Monsters vs Aliens. He is the quirky and eccentric inventor who creates the "Quantonium" which turns Susan Murphy into Ginormica. Cuthbert is shown to be somewhat of a recluse, spending most of his time in his laboratory working on his latest experiments. He is often seen wearing a lab coat and goggles, and he has a wild head of curly hair. Despite his odd behavior, Cuthbert is a genius inventor who is able to create incredible inventions that aid the monsters in their battle against the aliens. He is voiced by actor Hugh Laurie in the movie.
